On Wednesday the 23rd of August 2023 at approximately 18h15 at 188 Ester Robert’s Road, Umbilo a red Mercedes Benz with registration number: ND***** was hijacked and the victim was shot. The Umbilo Trio Task Team responded and circulated the said vehicle. With the assistance of the Cato Manor Trio Task Team and Urban Defence Field Unit, the hot spots were saturated in Cato Manor area. Whilst patrolling the members found the vehicle parked in a dead-end and had been stripped for the tracking device by 2 unknown African males. Upon the suspects seeing the marked vehicle they left the vehicle and fled in the Insimbini shack settlement. Constable Moodley and Fynn gave chase and lost the suspects in-between the shacks. The vehicle was still idling and 1 jammer, silver pistol with a 9mm magazine was found. The vehicle was taken to SAPS Cato Manor and handed in the SAP 13-***/2023. Umbilo CAS: xxx/08/2023. Suspects are wanted for attempted murder and carjacking.
